The most visible aspect of the program are the bright green parking meters that are stationed throughout Downtown to collect donations that will help get services to the homeless.
To date we have collected over $2000 from the meters. The money collected allows us to help individuals obtain ids/birth certificates and other items such as winter coats, medical supplies, etc.
FAQ:
What is Generocity Cleveland?
Generocity Cleveland is a public service campaign that also provides direct services to those in need. Its mission is to educate people about the best way to give, and to give an option for those people who want to donate. Generocity provides direct service to those in need by providing birth certificates and ID's, which are necessary to get any permanent support.
How do I give?
Donations are taken at any of Generocity Cleveland's parking meters in downtown or by mailing a check to:

What should I do if someone asks me for money?
Politely say no, thank you, and walk away. It is illegal for anyone to touch you, block your path, or follow you down the sidewalk after you have refused. Always call the DCA Operations Center at 216-621-6000 if you feel threatened.
How do I know if someone is truly in need?
You don't. Most panhandlers are not homeless, and most people who are homeless don't panhandle. Everyday there are dozens of meals and services provided in the downtown area. Visit the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless website
