Rooftop Garden on E.4th!
Greenhouse Tavern has not only been one of the newest faces on the Downtown dining scene over the past couple years, but it has become one of the freshest (literally).
Last week, the restaurant announced a new rooftop garden that will grow herbs and vegetables for the use in the restaurant’s dishes. This new move is an innovative step in building on the Tavern’s principles of local food sourcing. Even the composition of the gardens speaks to head chef Jonathan Sawyer’s commitment to holistic sustainability — The dirt used in the gardens is actually the product of compost from the restaurant’s left over food waste.
