Day Two Will Be Open to the Public All Day!

Due to the number of requests and inquiries from the general public, the organizers and exhibitors of Cleveland’s First Furniture and Millwork Fair have graciously decided to open the exhibits of the fair to the general public for the entire day of Thursday, July 15th. Doors open at 8am.

Nick Kostis Recieves Lifetime Achievement Award!

On June 13, 2010, the Ohio Restaurant Association will bestow its highest honor (a Lifetime Achievement Award) upon Downtown Restaurateur Nick Kostis, operator of Pickwick & Frolic Restaurant and Club.

The award will be given at the Ohio Restaurant Association’s Chairman’s & Industry Awards Event at the Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland, this Sunday. ORA, which celebrated its 90th anniversary this year, hosts the event to recognize excellence among restaurateurs, industry purveyors and public officials whose actions have benefited Ohio’s foodservice industry.

The Cleveland Furniture and Millwork Fair: July 14 & 15th

The District of Design will host the first Cleveland Furniture and Millwork Fair on July 14 and 15th at the Halle Building in downtown Cleveland. This first-of-its-kind fair will bring together Northeast Ohio’s finest furniture makers and millwork companies with Cleveland-area’s world-class design community.

Currently 15 furniture makers are registered, including Amish furniture companies of various sizes from Holmes County, large Cleveland-area furniture manufacturers and individual artisan woodworkers based in Cleveland.

2010 Historic Downtown Cleveland Luncheon Forum

Stacy Mitchell (nationally recognized expert on independent business) will present during the 2010 Historic Downtown Cleveland Luncheon Forum on May 12th. The Luncheon will be held at Sammy’s Metropolitan Ballroom in Downtown Cleveland.

Chinato is Open on E.4th!

Chinato, an old-meets-new Italian culinary concept, is the newest member of East Fourth Street. Chinato, named after a flavorful Italian after-dinner wine enriched with herbs, spices and Cinchona bark, is the award winning chef Zach Bruell’s fourth restaurant within the city of Cleveland. DCA Announces City Advocates Program for 2010

Downtown Cleveland Alliance is seeking new participants for the DCA City Advocate program. Launched in 2009, the program brings together a diverse group of young professionals who are eager to play a role in the revitalization and progress of downtown Cleveland. While volunteering time and hard work to actions related to DCA’s mission, participants emerge as new community leaders and potential candidates to serve on the DCA Board of Directors.
